The Cuban Book Chamber invites all lovers of books and literature to participate in one of the most popular and expected events in Cuba, the International Book Fair of Havana, which will take place from February 7 to 17, 2019, in its usual headquarters of the Military Historical Park, San Carlos de La Cabaña.
Both editors and translators, designers, illustrators, authors, distributors and the general public can enjoy a space designed and designed for the exhibition, marketing and promotion of the best of Cuban and foreign literature. It will also be the closest meeting point of the public with prestigious authors and academics, who will star in the varied and intense program of book presentations, workshops, lectures and round tables, which will take place in parallel with the varied cultural and artistic program that characterizes the event and that includes actions for the different sectors of the public attending the fairgrounds.
The 28th edition of the FILH will be especially dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution and will receive as guest of honor the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, a country with which there are historic ties and extensive bilateral relations. The book festival in Cuba will also pay tribute to the renowned work of the Cuban writer, National Literature Prize (2014) and Edition (2001), Eduardo Heras León. Another special motivation will be the celebration, together with its public, of the 500th anniversary of the founding of the Villa of San Cristóbal de La Habana, capital of all Cubans, whose Historical Center is declared by UNESCO a World Heritage Site.
